“EVERY DAY I DISCOVER MORE AND MORE BEAUTIFUL THINGS. IT’S ENOUGH TO DRIVE ONE MAD. I HAVE SUCH A DESIRE TO DO EVERYTHING, MY HEAD IS BURSTING WITH IT.” -claude monet
Life is a beautiful thing, meant to be lived fully and with intent. The above quote is an accurate description of how my brain works. It keeps me driven to learn and take on new challenges. My firm belief is that my fitness level plays a huge part in my ability to be successful in other facets of life, and so I make it a priority.
I am a personal training success story myself. Having kids and becoming weighed down with the responsibilities of life took its toll on my activity level, and I topped the scale at 178. I understand how challenging it is to lose weight, and that not being at peace with how you look or feel can cause a terrible pattern of negative self talk and frustration.
Through the right combination of nutrition, cardio, and resistance training, I lost 60 pounds over the course of several months with my trainer. It wasn’t done with an overly restrictive diet or magic pill, or hours of overtraining at the gym, but through the guidance of a knowledgeable professional, and the patience and persistence on my end to follow through with my goals.
I focus a great deal with my clients on developing core strength, stability, and balance. I want you to be able to not only look better, but MOVE and FEEL better. My training style has been greatly influenced by my background as a teacher. It’s important to me that my clients learn about proper form and exercise selection. My goal is to give clients tools that will help them move forward independently at the point that they are ready.
In addition to personal training, I teach group exercise, and assist Fitness Now with marketing and design. Before training, I was a teacher for six years, then afterward ran my own photography business. When I’m not training or taking care of my family, I blog about nutrition and fitness, and an array of other fun stuff on my website.
