As the holidays approach we have been introducing each member of our training staff.  If you've been following along, you've seen that we have several highly experienced personal trainers.  Their longevity as fitness professionals speaks to their skill and effectiveness, and we are proud to offer our clients the kind of expertise that they bring to the table.

Klint Ketcher is another veteran trainer on staff.  He has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years, in a number of roles - ranging from management to specializing in sports performance.  On a personal level, Klint is good-natured, approachable and easy to work with.  He has previously battled weight gain that we all often face with all the other responsibilities life throws our way, and understands what it takes to find time for fitness.  You can read more about Klint's background and approach HERE

Sometimes, technology is the best thing ever, and others it is a nightmare.  We had a slight web issue last night that made for a late afternoon newsroom post, but at least we won the day.  Fitness Now 1 - Technology 0. ;)

This week we introduce to you Skot Camp, a longtime fitness professional and all around great human.  Skot is an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Elite Trainer.  He has numerous other certifications and close to THIRTY years of personal training experience.  Needless to say, he has worked with many clients over the years whose fitness goals and health needs covered a broad spectrum.  We are very fortunate to have Skot on our team, for his skill set, easygoing demeanor, and wry sense of humor - you can read more about him HERE.

We are excited to announce that our personal trainer bio's are now live on our site!  Regardless of starting point or goals, training can have huge impact in helping you reach your goals faster, and with less risk of injury.  For the next several weeks, we will be featuring personal trainers on our blog so you get to know a bit more about their background and personal fitness journey.

This week, we put the spotlight on Christa Mills - trainer, early riser, and veteran group exercise instructor.  Christa has an incredible work ethic and drive - she is at the gym like clockwork every morning - you can find her every day out on the floor training or teaching a class, and when she's not, there is a good chance that she is working out on her own. She has an amazing weight loss story, and many years of experience in the fitness industry.  You can read more about Christa HERE

Would you like to know 4 of the most important things you can ever know about your body in less than 10 minutes?  What if those 4 things could also be used to help you achieve your health & fitness goals?  Would you be happy if you had the opportunity to find out these things at Fitness Now?  Well….you’re in luck!

We are once again partnering with Body Analytics to offer hydrostatic body composition testing! This is a powerful tool, as it assesses:

  • lean body mass (muscle, bones, organs, tissue)
  • body fat percentage
  • resting metabolic rate
  • target weight loss goals

When: October 28th, appointments available between 4pm-8pm

Price: $49 per individual or $80 for two

From Body Analytics

"Until now, hydrostatic body composition testing was only available at a few universities and hospitals. It is now available at this facility.

You will be submerged in water with your nose and mouth just slightly out of the water. You need to bring a swimsuit and a towel. No T-shirts or loose clothing should be worn. Please bring swim cap if you use gel or lotion on your hair. We have a private dressing room on board. The test takes less than 10 minutes.

For your comfort the lab is air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. The water is heated to between 88° and 94°, depending on the season and chemically treated for cleanliness to meet all local swimming pool and hot tub requirements of the local health department.

Eating within 2 hours before the test may affect your results by up to 1 1/2%. Therefore, we advise you to not eat within two hours before the test. Working out and drinking water is okay. You should try to use the restroom and take a shower if possible."
